The Experience
The balloon launches before sunrise, when the light is still soft and the air is coolest. Your driver picks you up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle and takes you to the launch site, where you'll attend a safety briefing and get ready to fly. Once airborne, a guide speaks in English, Spanish, Italian, French or another language, pointing out the Temple of Hatshepsut with its reconstructed colonnade glowing against fiery limestone cliffs, the Valley of the Kings where 62 known tombs honeycomb the hills, and the Valley of the Queens 1.5 miles west of the Nile. The Colossi of Memnon—two 18-meter stone figures weighing 1,000 tonnes each—mark the eastern entrance to the funerary temple of Amenhotep III below.
The ride lasts roughly three and a half hours from pickup to drop-off. Light breakfast and tea are served after you land, and the driver returns you to your hotel. Because the balloon departs every morning, you don't have to coordinate with other travelers or wait for a group to fill; you simply show up at the time your hotel pickup is scheduled.

Is the guide included, and what language do they speak?
Yes, a live guide is included on every flight and provides commentary in English, Spanish, Italian, French or one additional language, depending on your booking.
What time does the balloon ride depart, and how early do I need to be picked up?
The balloon departs every morning at sunrise; your hotel pickup happens before dawn so you arrive at the launch site in time for the safety briefing and preparation.
What's included in the price, and what do I need to pay extra for?
