The experience

The tour starts with pickup at Port Said port, where your guide meets you holding a sign with your name. A private air-conditioned vehicle takes you to the Giza Plateau, where you'll spend time at the three pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Menkaure, see the Great Sphinx, and visit the valley temple. You have the option to ride a camel on the plateau. Lunch at a local Egyptian restaurant is included partway through the morning.

After the pyramids, the drive continues to downtown Cairo. Your guide explains the city's landmarks along the way. The Egyptian Museum holds over 250,000 artifacts. You'll see the mummy rooms with the preserved remains of Egypt's most famous kings, and the treasure of Tutankhamun including his golden mask. Khan el-Khalili, the oldest market in the Middle East, comes next: a chance to walk through stalls and shops at your own pace. The private vehicle returns you to Port Said port at the end of the day.
