The Experience

You have a free afternoon in Punta Cana and want to be on the water instead of the beach. The boat leaves the marina and heads to a reef where a swimming guide leads you into the ocean to look for tropical fish among the coral. The water is shallow enough that you can surface and breathe without fighting current, and the guide stays with the group the whole time. Once everyone is back on deck, the bartender opens the bar and the music starts—Cuba Libres, passion fruit cocktails and Santo Libres flow while the crew keeps the energy moving with dancing and entertainment on the return to the marina.

The second stop is the Natural Pool, a shallow, calm stretch of water off Playa Bávaro where the bartender brings the open bar into the water and serves you drinks while you stand. The surroundings are the kind of landscape that stops people mid-conversation to take pictures. The crew leads the return trip back to shore with the same music and dancing that carried the first half of the day. The whole outing runs about three hours from pickup to drop-off, and you receive an email 24 hours before with the exact pickup time and location.

Appetizers and tropical fruits come with the cruise, and the open bar covers unlimited national drinks—no international spirits, but the cocktail menu is built around what the bartender can make with what's stocked.
