The experience

The tour starts at the Vivonte location one block from Central Park and moves through the entire cigar-making process. You'll see how seeds become tobacco plants, learn the harvesting and drying methods that prepare leaves for rolling, and understand the fermentation process that develops flavor. The guide explains why aging matters (both for tobacco and finished cigars), and how temperature and humidity in the aging room shape what ends up in your hand.

The demonstration covers the three components that make up a cigar and what to look for when you're checking construction quality. Then comes the part most people book for: you get to try rolling one yourself. The guide shows you how to light it properly and what smoking technique actually lets you taste the work that went into it. You'll also spend time in the aging room itself, seeing where cigars sit while they develop, and learning why that environment is not incidental to the product.
