The experience

The day starts with fishing offshore from the yacht. You're doing the casting and the work, not watching someone else do it. Once you've caught enough, the boat heads to Palmilla, a natural pool ringed by shallow turquoise water where sea stars live on the bottom. You cook your fish on board while the water stays calm around you, then jump in to snorkel and take pictures before eating what you caught. The yacht carries towels, fresh water, a bathroom and sleeping berths, so there's no roughing it between the fishing and the cooking and the swimming.

The eight-hour window is long enough to fish, cook without rushing, snorkel and eat, but it leaves the rest of your day free. A live guide speaks English, Spanish or French and steers the timing. Beers, water and soda are on board. Snorkeling equipment is included. Cooking your own catch costs extra and is arranged at checkout. If you'd rather skip that part, the fishing and the natural pool stop still stand on their own.

What’s included

  • Pickup from your hotel.
  • use of snorkeling equipment.
  • towels.
  • beers, water and soda throughout the day.
  • access to the yacht's bathroom and fresh water.

Is this one for you?Eight hours is a full commitment, so plan the rest of your day around an early or mid-morning departure. The activity suits anyone with moderate fitness who wants to fish and swim rather than sit and watch. If you prefer a shorter outing or a guided tour of the sites, look for a different format.

Top questions

What languages is the tour guided in?

Live guide in English, Spanish and French.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

What does the fishing part actually involve?

You fish offshore from the yacht using your own hands and effort: the guide sets up the lines and shows you the technique, but you're the one casting and reeling. How much you catch depends on the day, but the activity is the point, not a guaranteed haul.

Can I cook the fish I catch, or is that separate?

Cooking on board is an add-on at checkout and costs extra. If you choose it, the crew cooks your catch while you're in the water at Palmilla. If you skip it, you still fish and snorkel and swim.

What is Palmilla and what do you do there?

Palmilla is a natural pool: shallow turquoise water where sea stars live on the seafloor. You snorkel there, take pictures, and refresh in the water while the fish cooks on board if you've added that option.

Is eight hours enough time for fishing, cooking and swimming all together?

Eight hours covers fishing offshore, the ride to Palmilla, cooking on board, snorkeling and eating without a rush. It leaves your morning or evening free depending on when the yacht departs.

What's included and what costs extra?

Pickup, the yacht, towels, snorkeling gear, beers, water and soda are included. Cooking your catch on board is an add-on you select at checkout.
