The experience

Cabrits National Park opens the day. You walk through the meticulously restored 18th-century British garrison (officers' quarters, barracks, powder magazines), and stand alongside original cannons still mounted on the stone ramparts. From those vantage points you look out over Prince Rupert Bay and the waters where colonial naval battles once played out.

The Indian River comes next, and you sit back as your guide navigates the rowboat through the mangroves. No engine noise means you hear the rustle of leaves and the calls of Sisserou and Jaco parrots overhead. You hop off to walk a small botanical garden filled with local flowers: wild ginger, ferns, lilies thriving where the brackish water meets the sea.

Syndicate Falls sits in the heart of Morne Diablotin National Park, a short but adventurous trek into primary rainforest. The 15-minute path crosses a shallow river four times, each crossing adding to the authentic jungle feel. At the base, the 100-foot cascade drops into a clear, cool pool perfect for a swim and natural hydrotherapy.

Purple Turtle Beach closes the tour. The light-brown volcanic sand and calm, shallow waters invite you to unwind. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are available to rent, and you can snorkel right off the shore, finding volcanic rock formations and small coral patches with tropical fish.
