The experience

Copenhagen is built for bicycles, and this tour puts you on one with a guide who speaks your language and knows the city's layers. You meet at Hotel d'Angleterre on Kongens Nytorv, get fitted to a well-maintained rental bike, and start from King's New Square. The 2-hour Old Town route covers the essentials: Nyhavn's colorful facades, Amalienborg Palace, the Marble Church, Rosenborg Castle and its King's Garden, the Round Tower, Copenhagen Cathedral, City Hall Square, and a pass by Tivoli Gardens and Christiansborg Palace. It is a solid introduction to the city's landmarks and architecture.

The 4-hour option adds Christianshavn, a neighborhood of canals, houseboats and hip cafes where you'll see the Church of Our Savior, Copenhagen Street Food, and Freetown Christiania (viewed from outside). The route also takes in the old navy base and Holmen's dockyards, ending at the visually striking Copenhagen Opera House. The 6-hour experience is the most intensive: it keeps everything from the 4-hour tour and extends into Copenhagen's nature and parks. You cycle to the Little Mermaid statue, explore the lush grounds around Kastellet fortress (entry not included), and stop at Amager Beach Park for views and open space. There is free time to grab a snack like Smørrebrød, a traditional Danish open sandwich, at your own expense.

The guide tailors the route to your biking pace and interests, and the group stays small: no more than 15 people per guide. Children's bikes, child seats and helmets are available on request if you mention them when booking. Entrance fees to attractions are not included, but the bike, the guide's knowledge and the flexibility to move at your speed are.
