Pour Your Own Tastings From 64 Wines

A 2-hour wine tasting in a historical cellar in Krizikova where you load a chip card with CZK 900 credit and use wine machines to pour small samples from a rotating selection of 64 wines. A sommelier is available to guide you through the list or answer questions, or you can taste independently with just the wine descriptions provided. Most visitors try 25 or more wines across all key styles and regions.

The Experience

You arrive at the cellar and get a chip card loaded with CZK 900 credit, a list of wines with basic descriptions, water, and a glass—or grab a few more glasses if you want to compare wines side by side. The setup is straightforward: walk to the wine machines, select what interests you, and pour a tasting sample. The sommelier is there if you want to ask about a wine or get a recommendation, but the choice is entirely yours. Most visitors work through the recommended list of local Moravian wines to get a snapshot of what the region produces, then branch out from there.

The 64 wines on rotation cover all the major styles and regions. Want to taste a Czech Pinot Noir next to the French version? Both are usually in the machines. Curious about Bordeaux or New World reds but unsure where to start? There's a Bordeaux corner and a section for that. The CZK 900 credit typically covers tasting samples of 25 or more wines—enough to work through a real range without committing to full pours. If you run through the credit, the card reloads instantly. Cheese and salami plates are available separately if you get hungry; they're designed to pair with the wines.

The sommelier speaks English and Czech and is there to help if you want it, but the pace and the selections are yours to control. You're not following a guide through stops or listening to a lecture—you're moving between machines at your own speed, tasting what appeals to you, and building your own sense of the wines.

Is this one for you? This is a self-guided tasting, so you control the pace and which wines you try—ideal if you want to explore on your own terms rather than follow a set order. If you prefer someone to walk you through the wines and explain each one, the sommelier is there to do that instead; just let them know when you arrive.

Top questions

Can I taste the wines without a sommelier telling me what to try?

Yes. The sommelier is available if you want guidance, but you can also taste independently using just the wine list and descriptions provided. You choose which wines to pour and in what order.

How many different wines can I try with the CZK 900 credit?

The credit typically covers tasting samples of 25 or more wines, depending on how many pours you take from each. The machines dispense small tasting samples, so the credit stretches across a wide range. If you run out, the card reloads instantly.

What wines are usually available?

The cellar rotates 64 different wines daily, covering all key wine-making countries and styles. The selection includes local Moravian wines, French regions like Bordeaux, New World reds, and options to compare wines side by side—such as Czech and French Pinot Noirs in the same tasting.

Is food included, or do I need to bring my own?

Water and a glass are included. Cheese and salami plates are available for purchase and are designed to pair with the wines, but they're not part of the tasting credit.

How does the wine machine work?

You use a chip card loaded with CZK 900 credit to operate the wine machines. Select a wine from the list, insert your card, and the machine pours a small tasting sample into your glass. You control how many wines you try and the order you taste them.

Is this tasting suitable for someone new to wine?

Yes. The sommelier can guide you through the wines if you're new to tasting, and the recommended list of local Moravian wines is designed to give a good introduction to the region. You can also ask questions about any wine as you go.
