The experience
You arrive in Prague with a camera and an afternoon free. This tour takes you to four named locations: starting at Prague Old Town Square with Týn Church and the Astronomical Clock, then to Charles Bridge for architectural shots and abstract angles, up to Letná Park for panoramic views of the Vltava bridges, and into the Lesser Quarter where the narrowest street in Prague opens onto stunning bridge vistas. Jan shoots in the soft light of late afternoon through sunset into the blue hour, the window when night photography works best, so the timing is built around what the camera actually needs.
Jan is a local professional photographer, not a guide who happens to know the city. He teaches you how to set up your camera to capture what you're seeing, advises on composition, and shows you angles that exist off the standard tourist routes: yes, he says, they do exist. The tour runs three hours and covers ground on foot. You move between locations as the light changes. A non-photographer friend or partner can join you free of charge, though the instruction and pacing are built around people with cameras.
You choose between a small-group tour (up to three photographers) or a private booking. Small-group means you're shooting alongside other photographers at the same stops. Private means Jan guides only you. Both formats follow the same route and timing. Children are welcome from age twelve.
Is this one for you?Choose the small-group option if you want to shoot alongside other photographers and share the cost. Pick the private tour if you want Jan's full attention and the flexibility to linger at whichever locations yield the best light for your style. The three-hour window is fixed around the best light for cityscape photography, so if you have a free afternoon in Prague, this tour fits it exactly.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (12 to 17 years). Children under 12 can't be included in the booking.
What's the difference between the small-group and private photo tour options?
The small-group tour includes up to three photographers shooting together at each location. The private tour is just you and Jan. Both cover the same four locations and three-hour timeframe, and both include Jan's instruction on camera settings and composition.
Can I bring a camera that isn't a DSLR or mirrorless? Will a smartphone work?
The tour is designed for photography enthusiasts of all levels, so the camera type is up to you. Jan's instruction on composition and light applies across formats, though his technical advice on camera settings will be most detailed for dedicated cameras.
What exactly is the Astronomical Clock at Prague Old Town Square?
The Astronomical Clock is a medieval clock tower in Prague Old Town Square that has been marking time since the 1400s. It's one of the most photographed landmarks in the city, and Jan will show you how to shoot it and the Týn Church beside it from angles that work.
Does the tour include food or drinks, or should I bring water?
Food and beverages are not included. You'll be walking and shooting for three hours, so bringing water is a good idea. There are public transportation options nearby if you need a break.
What time of day does the tour run, and why does it end in the blue hour?
The tour takes advantage of late afternoon light through sunset into the blue hour. The time when the sky holds color after the sun sets and city lights come on. This is the best window for capturing night photography, so the three-hour tour is timed to end when that light is strongest.
Will I be walking the whole time, or do we stop to shoot at each location?
You walk between the four locations (Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, Letná Park and the Lesser Quarter), and stop to shoot at each one. The pace is built around photography, not sightseeing, so you'll spend real time at each spot rather than moving quickly through.
