The Experience

It’s not every day you see your kids’ faces light up before you’ve even left the parking lot. We arrived at the base just outside Prague—easy to find, with the faint smell of pine and petrol in the air. The staff greeted us right away, checked us in, and handed out all the gear: helmets (with those funny balaclavas), gloves, goggles. My youngest was especially proud of his elbow pads—kept flexing his arms like a superhero.

The instructor—Petr, I think—walked us through everything. He spoke clear English and made sure even my daughter (she’s 8) felt comfortable on her smaller quad. The Can Am Outlander 650XT looked massive next to hers! After a quick demo and some laughs about who’d get muddy first, we set off for an hour-long ride. The trail had just enough bumps to keep it fun but nothing too wild for beginners. Birds overhead, a bit of wind on our faces, and that satisfying hum from the engines—honestly, it felt good to do something different together as a family.
