Step-by-step itinerary
Sunset cruise with scenic stops
- Pass by Agioi Anargyroi Church
- Stop at Fig Tree Bay for dinner
- Enjoy fireworks display at Fig Tree Bay
- Pass by hidden sea caves of Protaras
- Swim and relax at Blue Lagoon
The experience
You board the Aerosa in Protaras with an afternoon or early evening free. The boat heads north along the coast, passing the haunting silhouette of Varoshia, the abandoned seafront district of Famagusta, then glides past the small clifftop Agioi Anargyroi church and the hidden Pirate Caves without stopping. The captain keeps the pace moving so the light holds. The route hugs the Protaras shoreline, where the water shifts from deep blue to pale turquoise as you approach Fig Tree Bay.
At Fig Tree Bay, the boat anchors for a buffet dinner and a fireworks display over the water. You eat on deck while the night landscapes of the Protaras coast unfold around you, with access to the bar's wine, beer, cocktails, juices and soft drinks, plus seasonal fresh fruit and a homemade Cyprus dessert on the return leg. The fireworks are timed to the meal, so the two happen together.
The final stop is Blue Lagoon, where you can swim in the clear water for roughly an hour while the sun sets. Snorkeling equipment is provided if you want to use it. The boat returns to Protaras after that. The entire voyage runs three hours and is subject to weather and the captain's decision: rough seas or poor visibility can alter the route or timing, and the operator notes that cruises depend on conditions on the day.
