The experience
The boat leaves Protaras pier in the late afternoon and heads south along the coast toward Cape Greco, passing the Pernera Fishing Shelter with its 80 traditional boats and the small chapel of Agioi Anargyroi, which sits on a vertical rock above the sea. The route follows the eastern edge of Cyprus toward the national park, where the limestone cliffs and protected pine forest meet clear water. You'll pass the natural stone bridge that Cape Greco is known for. A rare formation that took thousands of years to form and is now at risk from erosion.
The first swimming stop is Konnos Bay, a secluded beach with fine gold sand that stretches about 200 meters and has calm water suitable for children. You get 30 minutes to swim. The bay is home to sea turtles, so snorkeling is allowed but diving from the boat is not. Bring your own snorkeling equipment if you want to look underwater. The second stop is Blue Lagoon, where the water is so clear you can see the seabed. Diving is permitted here from either the upper or lower deck, and the water invites both swimming and snorkeling for as long as the tour allows.
The boat carries life jackets for all passengers, has WiFi onboard, and includes a restroom. A live guide speaks English throughout. If you need pickup from your hotel, that service is available for €5 per adult and €2.50 per child round trip and can be added when you book. Drinks and snacks are available to purchase onboard.

Can I bring my own snorkeling gear, or does the tour provide it?
You'll need to bring your own snorkeling equipment. The tour does not include it, but both Konnos Bay and Blue Lagoon are suitable for snorkeling if you have your own gear.
How long do we actually spend swimming at each stop?
Konnos Bay has a 30-minute swimming stop. Blue Lagoon is the second stop, though the exact duration depends on the boat's schedule for the return to Protaras before sunset.
What is the Agioi Anargyroi Church, and will we go ashore to see it?
Agioi Anargyroi is a small chapel in shades of blue and white that stands on a vertical rock above the sea, dedicated to Saints Kosmas and Damianos. The boat passes it during the route, but the tour does not include a landing there.
Is the Blue Lagoon water really as clear as people say?
Yes. The water in Blue Lagoon is so clear you can see all the way to the seabed. It's the reason thousands of visitors come by boat to swim and snorkel there.
