The experience

The day starts in Derynia village at the Famagusta Viewpoint, where your guide explains the history of the city before 1974 and the Varoshia tourist area. From there you cross the checkpoint into the north of the island, pass the ghost city (closed to visitors), and explore the old Famagusta with its Venetian walls, the Othello Tower, and local shops and cafés. This first half is guided. The second half shifts to the water.

After the Jeep portion, you board a cruise boat on the eastern beaches and sail along the coastline, stopping at coves and sea caves. The main event is the Blue Lagoon (famous for water so clear you can see the bottom), where you swim, snorkel (equipment provided free), and often stop for a second swim. Lunch prepared on board comes with a complimentary local drink. The boat portion carries no guide commentary, and adverse weather can cancel this second half. If it does, you receive a refund of €28 per adult or €15 per child.

Hotel pickup and drop-off are included from selected Larnaca hotels. The Jeep has no air conditioning, so bring sun protection, a hat, sunglasses, swimwear and a towel. You'll need a current valid passport or European ID card to cross the checkpoint. Tours run in English, German, or Polish depending on which option you book at checkout.
