The Experience

The tour starts with a jet ski briefing and safety check, then you head out on open water for roughly ten minutes before entering the calm Spanish water lagoon. The next 35 minutes take you past mangrove islands, exclusive houses and anchored yachts—the kind of coastline most visitors see only from a distance. You're moving at your own pace on the jet ski, following the guide's lead through the protected water.

The snorkel stop at the tugboat wreck in Caracas Bay is where the day shifts. The boat sank years ago and has become a habitat for morays, scorpion fish and other reef life. You spend about 45 minutes in the water with your snorkel gear, exploring the wreck and the surrounding bay. The guide stays with the group, pointing out what lives there and how to move safely around the structure.

A beach stop with a lagoon gives you time to swim and recover between the jet ski ride and the snorkel site. The whole outing—from engine start to final briefing—takes three hours for cruise passengers, which includes the pickup from your ship and the time needed to suit up.
