The Experience

The LOOKER 370 is a high-speed hydrofoil with the world's largest panoramic glass bottom — every seat looks straight down into the water without you having to leave the deck. You depart from Spanish Water and glide over the Saba Wreck, a sunken ship, while the guide points out what lives on and around it. The boat slows over pristine coral reefs so you can watch tropical fish and the reef structure itself from above, and the speed and the glass mean you cover more reef than you would swimming the same stretch.

At Tugboat Beach, you anchor and the pace changes. You get in the water with snorkel gear — included — and swim over the same kind of reef you watched from above. The tour also includes a Seabob experience (a handheld underwater scooter), so if you want to cover more ground or move faster than a swim, you can. After snorkeling, the boat moves to Caracas Bay, where you swim in turquoise water and eat lunch on board. The crew plays music and serves cold beverages throughout the tour. On the return, you pass Jan Sofat, where the guide shows you the luxury mansions and yachts anchored there.

The boat holds up to 22 guests, so it is not a private charter, but the size means you are not packed in. The whole experience runs 4 hours from departure to return. A live guide speaks English, Spanish or Dutch, so you get commentary in your language. The tour is suitable for all physical fitness levels, though it is not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health.
