The experience

How do you get out to the quiet coves along the Makarska Riviera without a boat tour? You rent a stand up paddleboard for 2 hours and paddle there yourself. The board, paddle and life jacket come with the rental, so you just show up and launch. You can go alone or bring friends, each person rents their own board, and the route is yours to set. Some paddle straight to the nearest bay. Others explore further along the coast, stopping to swim in water clear enough to see the bottom.

The Biokova Mountains rise directly from the shoreline, and you see them from the water in a way you don't from the beach. Small bays dot the coast between rocky points, and many stay quiet because they're only reachable by water. You can paddle into one, anchor the board in shallow water and swim, or just drift and look around. The 2-hour window is enough to reach a bay, spend time there and paddle back without rushing.

Two hours is the shortest rental option. If you want more time to explore further or spend longer at each stop, 4-hour and 8-hour boards are available at checkout. The rental works best on calm days. Check conditions before you book, since wind and waves change how far you can comfortably paddle.
