The experience

You start with a safety briefing and paddling instruction on the water, then set out along the coast with views of St. Euphemia's church and Rovinj's old town rising from the cliffs. The route takes you past rugged shoreline and small islands, and the guide points out where dolphins sometimes appear. You'll have snorkeling gear on board and time to use it as the kayak moves through the shallows: fish dart beneath you and the underwater landscape opens up in the clear water.

The island stop lasts 30–40 minutes and is accessible only by kayak. You can snorkel from the beach, swim in the open water, walk the island itself, or simply sit and take in the quiet. The guide carries a camera throughout and you get the photos afterward. Cliff jumps are an option if you want them: the guide shows you where and how. A cold drink comes with the activity, and you'll have a dry bag for anything that needs to stay dry during the paddle.
