A 2.5-hour watercolor painting class on the beach in Poreč, led by a Croatian artist in English, German or Croatian. Beginners learn the fundamentals (color mixing, transferring motifs, basic technique), while experienced painters deepen their skills, all with the old town and Mediterranean light as your subject. All painting materials are provided. Children from age 6 are welcome.

The experience

You'll spend 2.5 hours on the beach with an experienced Croatian artist, working in watercolor while the Adriatic and Poreč's old town sit in front of you. The class starts with an introduction to watercolor technique, then moves into color theory (how to mix colors correctly using the color wheel), and how to transfer a motif onto paper. From there, you paint according to your own feeling and desire, with the lecturer there to guide your work as it unfolds.

Beginners get the basics in simple steps. If you've painted before, you'll deepen what you already know. The Mediterranean light, the fresh sea air and the pine trees become part of what you're learning to see and put on paper. All brushes, paints and watercolor paper are included, so you arrive with nothing but the willingness to try. You take home the painting you made: a personal memory of the holiday in Poreč.
