The experience

We were already two bars deep when I realized I’d lost count of how many stickers were on my shirt: each one from some silly game our guide, Diego, threw at us. The air felt sticky-warm even after sunset, music leaking out onto the street. I was nervous at first (solo travel jitters), but people just kept pulling me into conversations.
