The experience
The van picks you up 15 minutes before your scheduled time at your Manuel Antonio or Quepos hotel, with your driver holding a sign with your name at the lobby, parking lot or front entrance. Once aboard, you settle into a reclinable seat with air conditioning, USB charging ports and big windows for the route ahead. A courtesy bottle of water and fresh juice are waiting, and WiFi keeps you connected if you need it. The driver briefs you on traffic conditions and estimated arrival time so you know what to expect.
The journey runs roughly three to three and a half hours depending on traffic and your chosen stops. Along the way, your English-, Spanish- or Portuguese-speaking driver points out attractions and shares information about Costa Rican nature and culture. The kind of detail that makes the drive itself part of the experience rather than just transit. For longer trips, the driver typically offers a stop at Crocodile Bridge over Tárcoles River or El Jardín Restaurant nearby, where you can photograph crocodiles and caimans, stretch your legs and use the restroom at no extra cost. Food and snacks are not included, but you can purchase them on your own if you want to linger. The stop depends on weather and whether the location is open.
When you reach San José Airport, the driver helps with your luggage and drops you as close as possible to your airline entrance or your hotel if that is your destination instead. The operator holds a Tourism Operator license under Costa Rican law and carries vehicle and passenger insurance for your safety.
