The experience
The tour opens with off-roading inside the rainforest to reach Portalón waterfall, where you can jump from the top or swim in the pool below. From there the route heads south to Playa Linda, a deserted beach lined with coconut trees where you can drink fresh coconut water while the ocean stays quiet. Uvita waterfall comes next. It has a natural water slide formed over thousands of years, a platform to jump from, and a freshwater pool for swimming or just taking pictures.
After Uvita, the tour stops at Pavón waterfall and the Tree of Life, a sacred site to the aboriginal people who lived in the area. Pavón holds a mysterious rock formation at the top of the cascade and works for swimming in front of or behind the falling water. The final stop is Playa Ventanas, a beach with two twin caves that tunnel through to the ocean. You walk inside these naturally carved passages where the rock meets the water.
An air-conditioned vehicle carries the group between sites. The tour runs 7 to 8 hours and includes lunch, bottled water, snacks, swimmers goggles and wifi. Your guide speaks English or Spanish and meets you for pickup at your location.
