The Experience

You ride your own ATV through the Manuel Antonio countryside—forests, palm plantations and small rural towns—with a guide leading the route. The terrain shifts as you move, and the guide points out the landscape and wildlife as you go. After the riding portion, you walk into a virgin rainforest section where the guide shows you birds and animals; the constant sound of water gets louder as you approach the waterfalls in Rainmaker Park. You get a chance to swim in one of the pools before heading to a typical ranch for lunch.

The ride itself takes you through the biological corridor near Manuel Antonio National Park. A professional guide leads in English or Spanish, and an air-conditioned vehicle follows the group. The nature walk is where most travelers stop to photograph—the waterfalls break through the rainforest canopy, and the pool is deep enough for a real swim, not just a splash. Lunch at the ranch is included and typical of the region.
