The experience

The tour starts with a 1–1.5 hour walk along the river, where your guide points out the local ecosystem as you move through the forest. Then you reach the seven waterfalls over the next 1.5–2 hours, swimming in the pools beneath them and taking photographs at each one. Cliff diving is available where the terrain allows. The guide speaks English or Spanish, so you get the commentary in whichever language works for you.

Lunch is a 30-minute break with fresh-cut pineapple and bottled water, eaten in the forest while you rest. The return hike to the starting point takes 30–45 minutes. Private transportation collects you from your hotel and brings you back, so there's no waiting for a shared van or figuring out how to get there on your own.
