You and the guide pick from a range of trails (some technical and tight, others fast and open), so a beginner and an expert can ride the same day and each get what they came for. The rainforest itself is the constant: you'll cross rivers, pass through dense vegetation and reach Bijagual Waterfall, one of the tallest in Costa Rica at 328 meters, all within the span of four to eight hours depending on how many stops you make and which loops you choose.

The bikes are Gas Gas (EC 250 two-stroke, EC 300 two-stroke, or EC 350F four-stroke) or Husqvarna FE 350 four-stroke. You pick which one suits your size and preference. If you didn't bring your own gear, rental is available. The guide speaks English and Spanish and handles navigation and pacing. All you need is manual clutch experience and a moderate fitness level to handle the terrain and the heat.

Gasoline is included in the price. You'll need to bring or rent protective gear, and a damage deposit is required at checkout. Public transportation runs nearby if you're staying in Jaco without a car.
