The experience
You float approximately two hours down the Corobicí River on a raft boat, moving through the Dry Gallery Forest where kapoks, figs and rubber trees line the banks. The guide helps you spot the animals living here (monkeys, bats, lizards, birds, iguanas), but the main draw is the crocodiles, an important population of which inhabits this river. The float includes a few safe class 1 or 2 rapids that add a touch of adventure without real risk.
After the river section, the tour moves to Llanos de Cortés Waterfall, reached by descending a trail of approximately 74 steps into tropical forest. The waterfall sits in a peaceful landscape where you can swim in the pool below or simply rest on the rocks and listen to the water and the forest around you.
Hotel pickup is included, and the guide speaks English or Spanish. Lunch and snacks are provided during the tour. Children from age five can join. If you're bringing kids under twelve, let the operator know their ages so they can arrange the right seats.
