ATV tour and beach stops on Tierra Bomba

- Drive ATVs through local communities and trails
- Stop at private beaches and beach clubs
- Swim and cool off at the beach
- Take a break and swim at second stop
- Return by water taxi to Cartagena
The Experience
The day starts with a water taxi ride from Cartagena to Tierra Bomba Island—that crossing is included, and it sets up everything that follows. Once you land, you mount a Honda 420 ATV and ride out through local communities on trails that open onto the island's interior. The guide leads the route and handles the pace; you follow the terrain and the group ahead of you.
Two stops break the 2-hour loop: private beaches where the water is calm enough to swim and the heat drops fast once you're in. You can stay in the saddle or wade in; the choice is yours, and cold drinks are waiting when you climb back on. The trails themselves move through the island's working landscape—not a manicured park, but the actual ground locals cross every day.
You need a minimum of two ATVs to book (one rider per machine), and the operator has nine available, so small groups and families ride together. Helmets are provided. There's a changing area on the island and a place to store belongings if you don't want to carry them on the ride. Departures run at 10am and 2pm every day of the week.
What’s included

Is this one for you?Book the 10am departure if you want the cooler part of the day on the trails; the 2pm slot works better if you're sleeping in or prefer an afternoon swim. Either way, you need at least one other rider in your party to meet the two-ATV minimum, so plan accordingly if you're traveling solo.

Can I ride an ATV on Tierra Bomba Island if I've never done it before?
Yes. The tour is suitable for all physical fitness levels, and the guide leads the group at a pace that works for mixed experience. The operator provides helmets and handles the route; you control the throttle.
What's the water taxi situation—is that included or extra?
The water taxi to and from Tierra Bomba Island is included in the tour price. The crossing takes about 20 minutes each way and is part of the full experience.
How many people can ride on one ATV, and is there a minimum group size?
One rider per ATV. The minimum is two ATVs per booking, so you can ride solo on your own machine as long as someone else in your party is on a second one. The operator has nine ATVs available.
What happens if my kids want to come—how old do they need to be?
Children are welcome from age 12 and up. They ride their own ATV (subject to the two-ATV minimum) and follow the same route as the adults.
Do I get time to actually swim, or is it just a quick stop?
The tour includes two beach stops where you're welcome to swim and cool off. How long you spend in the water is up to you; the guide builds in time for a real break, not a drive-by.
What do I need to bring, and where do I change into swimwear?
Bring swimwear under your clothes or change into it at the island—there's a changing area provided. The operator can store your belongings while you ride, so you don't have to carry a bag on the ATV.
