A guide gives a five-minute orientation on park behavior before you enter. The first stop is Seven Waves, a natural viewpoint fifty meters high where the mountains drop straight to the Caribbean. Most people spend time here with a camera. From there you walk down to Neguanje, a small fishing beach ringed by mountains and vegetation where you can swim, then board a boat for a ten-minute ride to Playa Cristal.
Playa Cristal is the second most visited beach in South America and sits on the list of twenty most beautiful beaches globally. The water is clear enough to see the coral and fish without going deep. Snorkeling is the main draw because the area is a nature reserve where fishing is banned, so the marine life stays.
