The experience
The drive to Santa Rosa de Cabal passes through the Coffee Cultural Landscape, the region UNESCO recognized for its coffee heritage. The town itself sits near Pereira and draws visitors for two reasons: the thermal springs and local food, especially chorizo. Once you arrive, a short walk through the mountains takes you to the first hot springs pool, where a waterfall feeds into tubes at varying temperatures. A second spring requires a brief hike to reach a different waterfall and its own set of pools.
The mineral content in the thermal water is the draw. It helps cleanse toxins, improve blood flow and increase oxygenation. You get time to soak and rest without a guide narrating. The focus is on your own pace in the water. The activity runs six hours total, including the drive and the time spent at both springs. All Risk Insurance, the driver and entry to the hot springs are included. You bring your own towel, wear shoes that grip wet ground, and pack sunscreen and water for the walks and soaking time.

Top questions
Which pickup location works best for where I'm staying?
You can arrange pickup from Salento, Pereira, Filandia or Armenia, depending on which city you're based in during your stay. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included with your booking, so confirm your accommodation address when you reserve.
What are the hot springs actually like when I get there?
Two separate thermal spring sites feed into pools at different temperatures. The first is a short walk from the parking area and has a waterfall running into it. The second requires a brief hike up into the mountains. Both are fed by volcano water rich in minerals, and you soak in whichever pools appeal to you during your time there.
Do I need to be fit to do the walks to the springs?
The walks are short and the activity suits all fitness levels. Wear comfortable shoes with good grip since the ground near the water can be slippery, and bring water to stay hydrated during the hikes and soaking.
What should I bring besides my swimsuit?
Bring your own towel, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, water and a camera. The operator does not provide a guide, so you explore and soak at your own pace.
Does the price include lunch?
Lunch is not part of this activity. Plan to eat before you leave or bring snacks. The town of Santa Rosa de Cabal has local food options including chorizo if you want to explore once you return from the springs.
