Parasailing in San Andrés is a two-hour activity where you fly behind a boat for approximately 15 minutes while a guide and up to 11 other participants watch from the water. Equipment, harness and prior instruction are included. The activity runs in all weather. Children from age 6 are welcome, and guides speak English and Spanish.

The experience

The activity runs for two hours total, with your flight lasting around 15 minutes. While you're in the air, the rest of the group, up to 12 people, stays on the boat and takes in the view of San Andrés Bay. A guide walks you through the setup and stays with the group throughout, speaking English or Spanish depending on your preference. The parasail equipment and harness come with the booking, along with instruction before you launch.

Weather doesn't stop the activity: rain or cloud cover won't cancel your reservation, so you can plan around it. If you want photos or video of your flight, you can pay for a photography service at the time, or bring your own camera to capture the moment. The bay's water and the island backdrop make for the kind of shot most people want to keep.
