The experience
You're picked up at your hotel in a private car with air conditioning and driven to La Boquilla, a fishing village where locals will hand you a net and show you how they work the water. This is not a tour of the village. You're in the boats doing what the fishers do, learning their techniques and the rhythms of their day. The guide narrates in English or Spanish and shares how the community lives by the sea, what the catch means to them, and why the work matters. Over roughly four hours, you move between fishing, talking with the people who do this every day, and returning to prepare lunch from what you've learned.
Lunch is cooked and served as part of the activity, along with a coconut drink and cooking tips from locals. The whole outing (transport, the guide, national park fees, insurance, and the meal) is priced as one booking. Alcohol is available to purchase if you want it. Start times are flexible. The standard departures are 9 am and 2 pm, but you can ask about other hours when you book.
