The experience

The boat leaves the office at 6am and motors out 15 to 20 minutes to the fishing grounds. You'll spend four to five hours casting rods and nylon lines, working to land medium to large fish. The kind of catch that becomes a story when you get home. The guide is with you the whole time, speaking Spanish and helping you read the water and set the hook.

Around midday you'll head to one of the fishermen's beaches for lunch and a break. The snorkeling gear is there if you want to get in the water. If you'd rather rest on the sand, that works too. Most days the boat heads back to Taganga by 3pm, giving you the afternoon free.
