The Experience

The tour starts in one of Cali's most beloved neighborhoods and moves through the city's food zones on foot. Your guide, who knows the spots personally, takes you past Colombia's longest urban tunnel and its street art, then through the historical downtown where the streets date back centuries. You'll see one of the oldest houses in the city, now run by a community of single mothers operating a souvenir shop, café and restaurant. The walk itself is the connective tissue — the neighborhoods matter as much as the food.

At the first main stop, a well-known local bakery, you choose from pandebono, buñuelo, arepa, almojabana, empanada de cambray, coffee, fruit juices, oatmeals and bottled water. Then you move deeper into one of the city's best food areas, where the second stop serves hearty fried food — empanadas, marranitas, papa rellena, papa aborrajada and maduro aborrajado.
