The Experience

The tour starts at The Cranky Croc hostel and moves through the oldest part of Bogotá on foot. Your guide speaks English and Spanish, switching between them as the group needs, and leads you past Nuestra Señora del Carmen—a Gothic church with a candy-cane stripe—then into La Concordia Market to taste exotic fruits and chicha, a traditional fermented drink. You walk La Séptima, the longest pedestrian street in Latin America, and cross the Eje Ambiental, the channeled river that divides the city's old and new halves.

The route takes in Plaza de Bolívar, Colombia's most important square, where the guide explains the country's political history and architecture. You pass the Primatial Cathedral, the nation's first cathedral, and stop for Colombian coffee and coca tea. The pace adapts to weather and group size, so the walk stays comfortable even on crowded days or when rain shifts the timing.

At the end you arrive at Magola Buen Día, a coffee place that doubles as a Tejo hall.
