The Experience
The day starts with a one-hour drive from your hotel to the Terracotta Warriors Museum, where more than 8,000 life-sized terracotta warriors and pottery horses stand in three excavated burial pits. These figures were buried underground to guard the first Chinese emperor in the afterlife—a scale and detail that photographs don't quite prepare you for. After time to walk the museum, you head back to Xi'an for the foodie portion: a walk through the Muslim Quarter sampling local snacks that define the city's food culture. You'll taste Roujiamo (a savory pork burger), liangpi (rice noodle), and youpomian (spinach noodle), each one a standard of Xi'an cuisine.
From the Muslim Quarter, the tour moves to the City Wall, where you can walk and photograph the famous structure. Then comes the seal carving class: a master calligrapher teaches you the art of traditional Chinese calligraphy and guides you through carving your own personalized seal—a keepsake you take home. The final stop is the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, built 1,300 years ago, where you walk the grounds and photograph the historical landmark before returning to your hotel.
Your guide speaks English throughout the day and handles all logistics: transport is by private air-conditioned vehicle, and the pace is built around seeing each stop without rushing between them. The itinerary suits all fitness levels, and any dietary preferences can be arranged in advance.

What exactly is inside the Terracotta Warriors Museum?

These figures were created to guard the first Chinese emperor in the afterlife and remain one of the largest intact collections of ancient military statuary.
What food do you actually taste on the Muslim Quarter walk?
The foodie tour includes tastings of Roujiamo (a savory Chinese pork burger), liangpi (rice noodle), and youpomian (spinach noodle)—all signature Xi'an dishes. If you have dietary restrictions, you can note them at booking so the guide can adjust the stops.
Do I carve a real seal that I can use?
Yes. You work with a master calligrapher to learn traditional Chinese calligraphy and carve your own personalized seal under his guidance. The seal is yours to take home as a souvenir of the day.
How long is the drive to the Terracotta Warriors Museum?
The drive from your downtown Xi'an hotel to the museum takes about one hour each way. Your private vehicle is air-conditioned, and the driver is included in the tour.
