The experience
You're picked up from your hotel and driven to Lianhuashan Park, where a 108-meter climb puts you face-to-face with a bronze statue of Deng Xiaoping: the architect of Shenzhen's transformation from border town to 5G metropolis. From the summit, the 360-degree view shows the city's real scale: drone-light highways, rooftop solar farms, skyscrapers networked to satellites. Your guide walks you through how this happened in four decades, then you descend to Nantou Ancient Town, where the city's other story unfolds.
Nantou's streets have held their shape for nearly 1,700 years. You walk past ancestral temples, old city walls, and traditional residences: the political and military heart of the coastal region centuries ago. Today creative studios and design shops sit alongside the historic core, and your guide points out how locals still move through both layers at once. This is the morning half: roots, continuity, the long view.
After lunch (on your own), you transfer to OCT Harbour by driverless car. A first taste of what comes next. Inside the world's largest DJI flagship store, you test-fly the latest drones. Then you step into China's most advanced electric vehicle and control it with voice commands alone. The final stop is Talent Park, Shenzhen's living laboratory: you can order drone delivery, hail a driverless taxi from the dispatch center, try AI glasses, wear an exoskeleton, watch robot baristas, and interact with 3D-printed objects. The afternoon is hands-on, future-facing, a glimpse of what the city is building now.

Is this one for you?Book the full-day option if you want to see both sides of Shenzhen (the 1,700-year-old streets and the cutting-edge tech labs) in one outing. The half-day culture tour works if you have only a morning or early afternoon free and want to focus on Shenzhen's history and skyline views. Choose the private car option if you're traveling with a group and want dedicated transport. The taxi option is more economical for solo travelers or pairs.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Chinese and Cantonese.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the actual difference between the half-day culture tour and the full-day version?
The half-day option covers Lianhuashan Park and Nantou Ancient Town only, ending by early afternoon. The full-day tour adds OCT Harbour (DJI drones and voice-controlled EV) and Talent Park (driverless taxi, drone delivery, AI glasses, exoskeleton) in the afternoon, so you see both the city's 1,700-year history and its current tech frontier.
Do I need to book lunch separately, or is it included?
Lunch is not included in the tour price, so you'll choose where and what to eat during the break between Nantou Ancient Town and OCT Harbour. Your guide can recommend spots nearby.
Can I actually test-fly a drone at the DJI store, or just look at them?
You test-fly drones inside the world's largest DJI flagship store as part of the tour. You also get to control the voice-activated electric car at OCT Harbour and interact with the tech at Talent Park (AI glasses, exoskeleton, 3D-printed items), so the afternoon is hands-on, not observation only.
How does the driverless car transfer between stops actually work?
After lunch, you're transferred from Nantou Ancient Town to OCT Harbour by driverless taxi: a real autonomous vehicle, not a simulation. It's part of the tour experience and shows how the technology works in practice before you explore it further at Talent Park.
Is this tour physically demanding, or can anyone do it?
The tour is suitable for all physical fitness levels. The main climb is the 108-meter hill at Lianhuashan Park. The rest is walking through town streets and standing in shops and parks. Bottled water is provided throughout the day.
