The experience

Your guide and driver meet you at your hotel lobby by 8am and drive you to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The cable car takes you up to the Yak Meadow section, where you get panoramic views of the mountain and the surrounding landscape. The mountain is a sanctuary for rare animals and wild plants, and it's also tied to Naxi legends and myths. You ride the cable car back down, then head to lunch.

After lunch, the guide takes you to Baisha Village, a quieter alternative to the crowded main town of Lijiang. The Baisha Murals are the main draw here: a collection of ancient frescoes painted by Han, Tibetan, Naxi and other artists. You'll also visit Yufeng Monastery. Baisha Village shows the authentic daily life of the Naxi people without the commercialization of central Lijiang. By around 4pm, your driver takes you back to your hotel.
