The experience
Your guide meets you at your hotel lobby or Hangzhou Railway Station and takes you first to Jingci Temple, a 10th-century site perched near Nanping Hill with views over West Lake. From there you move to Leifeng Pagoda, where the guide shares the legend of Miss Bai and can hike up the pagoda with you if time allows. The pagoda sits directly above the lake, so you see the water and the surrounding hills from the top.
After lunch (included in the All Inclusive option), you board a boat on West Lake itself, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and drift past traditional pagodas, bridges and pavilions. Back on land, you walk the Su Causeway, which runs north to south through the lake and is named after Su Dongpo, a Song Dynasty official who served in Hangzhou. Along the way, you pass Longjing tea fields and can stop to taste a cup of green tea and learn how the tea is grown and processed. The day ends on Hefang Street, a pedestrian lane lined with boutique shops selling tea pots, ceramics and silk. Your guide brings you back to your hotel after you've had time to browse.
The tour is private, so the pace and stops adjust to your interests. Your guide speaks English throughout. Entrance fees and taxi fares within the 2nd Ring Road are covered. If you book the All Inclusive option, lunch is also included. Outside the 2nd Ring Road, taxi fares are at your own expense.

Yes. Ticket types: Child (3 to 12 years); Infant (under 3): free.
What is Leifeng Pagoda and why is it part of this tour?
Leifeng Pagoda stands on a hill overlooking West Lake and is one of Hangzhou's most recognizable landmarks. The guide shares the legend of Miss Bai associated with it, and if time permits, you can climb inside the pagoda to see the lake views from above.
Do I get to actually go on West Lake, or just see it from the shore?
You board a boat and ride across West Lake, drifting past traditional pagodas, bridges and pavilions. This is part of the tour itinerary and gives you a different perspective of the UNESCO heritage site than walking the shoreline.
Is lunch included, and what will I eat?

What is the Su Causeway and how long do we spend there?
The Su Causeway is a walkway that runs north to south through West Lake, named after Su Dongpo, a Song Dynasty official who worked in Hangzhou. You stroll along it as part of the day's route, taking in the lake views and passing the Longjing tea fields nearby.
Will I have time to shop on Hefang Street?
Yes. Hefang Street is the final stop of the day before your guide returns you to your hotel. It's a pedestrian street with boutique shops selling tea pots, ceramics, silk and other local goods, and you have time to browse if you wish.
Does the price include getting to and from my hotel?
Yes. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included in both tour options. If you're staying near Hangzhou Railway Station, pickup from there is also available. Just confirm your location when you book.
