The experience

Your guide and driver pick you up at your hotel lobby at 6 pm and drive you to Diandoude Restaurant, a well-known spot for Cantonese dim sum. You order from the cart (shrimp dumplings, shaomai, walnut buns, steamed ribs and other items), and your guide eats with you, explaining the dishes and the tradition behind them. The meal is unhurried. Dim sum is meant to be lingered over.

After dinner, you're transferred to the dock on the Pearl River. The 60-minute cruise departs as the city lights come on.
