You'll see the daily reality of the Dan Jia people, known as China's "gypsies on the sea": fishermen mending nets, cooking on their boats, preparing for the next catch. About 600 families live in red-roofed houses built on the water, and the village operates exactly as it has for generations. Your guide will walk you through, and you'll ride in a local fisherman's boat for 30 minutes to move through the harbor the way residents do.

Before lunch, you stop at the local market: a place where Sanya residents actually shop.
