The experience
The day starts with pickup from your hotel in central Chengdu, then a direct drive to the Panda Base while crowds are still light. You arrive early enough to watch the pandas eat and play in their outdoor enclosures before the midday lull, and your guide (fluent in English and familiar with the center) tailors the pace to what interests you. If cubs are in the nursery that season, you'll see them. The red panda section and the conservation exhibits follow, each one explained in the context of what you're actually looking at rather than rushed through.
The route itself is flexible.
