The experience

The coach picks you up in downtown Beijing and drives you straight to Mutianyu, one of the Great Wall's most visited sections. You get 4–5 hours to spend however you want: hike the restored stone sections, ride the cable car up and toboggan down, walk the quieter stretches, or sit with a camera and wait for the light. The internal shuttle bus runs once uphill and once downhill within the scenic area, so you're not climbing the entire way on foot unless you choose to.
