Trek to the Torres viewpoint, sail to Grey Glacier, and walk inside Milodon Cave across three days in Patagonia.

The experience
The tour starts with a full day of active hiking around the park's signature landmarks. After a two-hour drive from Puerto Natales, you reach Salto Chico for a short walk with views of the Cuernos peaks, then tackle the Mirador Cóndor hike: a medium-low difficulty climb of roughly two hours round trip that opens onto the Paine massif, rivers and lakes. Box lunch arrives at Pehoe Campsite on the shore of Lake Pehoe. The afternoon brings two more walks: a two-hour trek to Mirador Cuernos overlooking Lake Nordenskjold at the foot of the horns themselves, and a stop at Paine Waterfall where the river spills toward the lake with the Torres in the distance. You return to Puerto Natales by evening.
Day two centers on Grey Glacier. The guide picks you up at 6:30 a.m., and after two hours driving through the Rio Serrano valley, you check into Grey Hotel and board a boat for a 2 hour 45 minute sailing across Grey Lake toward the glacier face. An English-speaking guide accompanies you on the water and serves a hot drink onboard. After landing, you rejoin your driver for lunch at the hotel overlooking the lake and mountains. The afternoon includes a viewpoint of Lake Toro and a visit to Milodon Cave, a massive cavern where ground sloths once sheltered, before returning to town by early evening.
The final day is the hardest trek: a climb to Mirador Base Torres, the viewpoint where you see the three granite towers themselves. Pickup happens between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m. for the two-hour drive to Laguna Amarga Gate. The hike is difficult and takes most of the day: the guide sets the pace and hydration stops. In winter, if heavy snow closes the trail, you hike instead from Portería to Portería with views of Laguna Azul. Either way, you return to Puerto Natales by 7:30 or 8:00 p.m. Throughout the three days, the operator provides walking sticks, and in winter adds crampons, headlamps and gaiters. All park entry tickets, meals (box lunches with vegetarian, chicken or meat options), hot and cold drinks, and four nights in a cabin-style room at Casa Entre Ulmos y Lengas are included. You stay in Puerto Natales, not in the park.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
What is the Mirador Base Torres hike actually like on day three?
Mirador Base Torres is a difficult, full-day trek to the viewpoint where you see the three granite towers themselves. The hike takes most of the day, with the guide controlling the pace and choosing hydration stops. You must reach the end of the trail to see the towers. The path is the same both ways. In winter, if Conaf closes the route due to excessive snow, you hike instead from Portería to Portería with views of Laguna Azul instead.
Do I stay inside Torres del Paine park or in Puerto Natales?
You stay in Puerto Natales at Casa Entre Ulmos y Lengas, a cabin-style accommodation in town. The guide picks you up and drops you off at your room each day, so you return to the same place each night rather than camping or lodging inside the park.
What meals are included across the three days?
Box lunches with your choice of vegetarian, chicken or meat options are included on days one and three on the trail. Day two lunch is served at Grey Hotel overlooking the lake and mountains after the glacier sailing. Hot and cold drinks travel with you each day. Breakfast and dinner are not included, so you arrange those in town.
Can I customize the trekking if I'm not sure about the difficulty?
Yes. The operator describes the itinerary as 100% private and customizable. You can modify the trekking routes, and on day three you can choose between the full Mirador Base Torres hike or the easier Portería to Portería option. Discuss your fitness level and preferences when you book, and inform the operator of any food restrictions at least three days ahead.
What gear and equipment do I need to bring?
Walking sticks are provided. In winter, crampons, headlamps and gaiters are also included. You need to bring your own sunblock, sunglasses, jacket and weather-appropriate pants. The weather in Patagonia changes rapidly. The operator does not provide these items.
Is this tour suitable for someone with heart or breathing concerns?
The operator does not recommend this tour for travelers with heart disease or asthma, and notes that a high level of physical fitness is required. The hikes are demanding, especially the final day's trek to the towers. Discuss any health concerns with the operator before booking.
