Ski Chile's highest resort or tube in the snow, 11,000 feet above Santiago

A small-group day trip from Santiago to the Andes ski resorts of Valle Nevado and Farellones, with hotel pickup and a driver who speaks English, Spanish or Portuguese. You choose whether to ski (bring experience) or tube and enjoy other snow activities; the drive itself passes lookout points where you can stop. The tour runs only during the June–August winter season and depends on snow conditions.

The Experience

Your day starts with pickup from your Santiago hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. The scenic drive to the mountains includes a stop to collect ski equipment if you've booked that option, and time at lookout points along the way. You'll arrive at Farellones first, where you can spend free time tubing in the snow park (entrance fee separate) or doing other activities the resort offers.

Then the vehicle continues to Valle Nevado, Chile's largest ski resort, sitting at 11,000 feet above sea level. If you indicated at booking that you have prior skiing experience, you can spend the rest of your day on the slopes. If not, you have the same free time to explore the resort and its surroundings. The whole outing runs about 9 hours before the return drive to Santiago and drop-off at your hotel.

A driver or guide travels with the group throughout. The vehicle is air-conditioned for the ride up and down, and the small-group format means you're not on a bus with fifty people—just a handful of travelers with the same plan for the day.

What’s included

  • Hotel pickup and drop-off in Santiago.
  • transport in an air-conditioned vehicle.
  • driver or guide for the full day.
