The Experience

The day begins with hotel pickup and a drive to Isla Negra, where you'll spend roughly an hour inside the House Museum of Pablo Neruda, the Chilean poet who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971. The museum entrance is included, and your guide walks you through the rooms and explains Neruda's life, his travels, and the significance of the house itself. It's a straightforward introduction to one of Latin America's most celebrated writers, set in the actual place where he lived on the coast.

After the museum, you head to Algarrobo, known as Chile's "nautical capital" for the water sports practiced there—sailing, surfing and others—and for its abundant beaches and older architecture. You'll have time to breathe the coastal air and walk along the shore before moving on to the final stop. The pace is yours to set; the guide adjusts the itinerary to what interests you.

The tour ends at San Alfonso del Mar, a resort complex built around the largest swimming pool in Latin America. You can explore the grounds and have lunch there (lunch is not included in the price, so you'll order and pay separately). The whole day runs eight hours from pickup to drop-off, and the air-conditioned minivan means you're not managing your own transport between stops.
