The Experience
You meet your guide at El Comendador 2060 in Providencia and start riding alongside the parks toward the city center. The first stop is Plaza Baquedano, the landmark that divides modern Santiago from the historic core. From there you follow the paths of Forestal Park past the Palacio de Bellas Artes, heading toward Plaza de Armas—the principal square where locals gather and where your guide explains Chilean history and points out the Central Post Office, City Hall and Metropolitan Cathedral surrounding the plaza.
The ride continues along Bulnes Avenue toward La Moneda Palace and the Bulnes Promenade, both lit up at night. Your guide covers the military coup years and the country's current state as you pass these landmarks. You then move through the commercial center, passing the Supreme Court and former National Congress buildings along New York Street, one of the oldest in the city. The Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art sits along this stretch, and you ride past the illuminated Central Market and into the Lastarria district, known for its art scene and nightlife.
The final section takes you into Bellavista, the bohemian neighborhood and main nightlife area, where you stop to see La Chascona—Pablo Neruda's house. The tour ends at Aviation Square and its fountain before you head back to the meeting point. The bike is a Mountain Bike Trek 3900 or Mongoose, and you wear lights and gloves throughout so you're visible on the evening streets.
