The experience
You'll start at the operator's office and drive 35 minutes to the river put-in, where certified guides meet you with all the gear. After a complete safety briefing, you paddle into the Futaleufu's most famous commercial section, running rapids like the Mundaca (IV+) and Pillow (IV) that make this stretch known across Patagonia. The river here is technical and exhilarating without being expedition-grade, which is why it draws experienced paddlers and strong intermediates alike.
Wetsuits, wetsocks, helmets and Class V personal flotation devices are provided. The guides speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and one additional language. Midway through the run, you'll pull into a private spot with views across the Patagonian countryside for lunch and coffee or tea before heading back to the office.
