The experience

You leave the village behind and walk into one of the Elqui Valley's hidden natural sanctuaries, where the landscape opens to mountains, native cacti and birdsong. In spring, wildflowers line the trail. The walk is gentle and moves at your own pace, designed to slow you down and reconnect with the land around you.

Once you reach a secluded setting surrounded by the Andes, the wellness practice unfolds through conscious breathing, mindful movement inspired by Qigong, guided body awareness and Tibetan singing bowls. The guide weaves in quiet reflection rooted in Andean wisdom. Because the group stays at one or two people, every element adapts to what you need in that moment. There is no script. Herbal tea and a light snack ground the experience before you return to Casa Pumagui feeling refreshed and grounded.

Trekking poles, a yoga mat and a blanket are provided. You'll need trekking shoes and a moderate level of physical fitness for mountain terrain. The arid, sunny climate of the valley means sun protection matters. The guide speaks English or Spanish.

Top questions

What languages is the tour guided in?

Live guide in English and Spanish.

Can children come?

Yes. Ticket types: Youth (14 to 17 years). Children under 14 can't be included in the booking.

What does the walk itself involve in the Elqui Valley?

The walk follows a gentle path into a hidden natural sanctuary, moving through mountains and native cacti. The terrain is open to birdsong and, in spring, wildflowers. The pace is entirely yours. The walk is designed to help you slow down and reconnect with the landscape rather than cover distance.

How does the wellness practice work once you reach the secluded site?

The practice combines conscious breathing, Qigong-inspired mindful movement, guided body awareness and Tibetan singing bowls, woven together with Andean reflection. Because only one or two guests attend, the guide adapts each element to what you need in that moment rather than following a set routine.

What should I wear and bring for this activity?

Trekking shoes are mandatory. Trekking poles, a yoga mat and a blanket are all provided. The Elqui Valley is arid and sunny, so sun protection and water are essential. Bring what you would for a mountain morning in a desert climate.

Is this activity suitable for someone over 60?

Participants over 60 need good physical endurance for mountain terrain and should not be vulnerable to the arid, sunny climate of the valley. If you have cardiovascular concerns or reduced mobility, or if walking on mountain trails is not possible for you, this activity is not recommended.
