Glass Bottom Kayaking in Grand Cayman: Mangrove Paddling
The kayak hull itself is glass, so you see the seabed without leaving your seat.
Glass-bottom kayaking in Grand Cayman launches from the Cayman Islands Yacht Club into mangrove channels and clear water, where a naturalist guide introduces local plants, wildlife and history. Groups stay small, one guide per six paddlers, so you can ask questions and get a tailored experience. All gear, life jacket and paddle are included. Single and double kayaks are available, though numbers are limited.

The experience
You launch directly from the Cayman Islands Yacht Club into a network of mangrove waterways in a glass-bottom kayak. The hull transparency lets you watch the seabed pass beneath you as you paddle through crystal-clear water, and a professional naturalist guide narrates what you're seeing: the plants rooted in the mangrove, the fish and creatures moving below, the history and culture of the islands woven into the landscape. The two-hour paddle moves at a pace that lets you absorb it all without rushing.
Small group size is the engine here. With one guide for every six participants and most departures running four to six people, you're not competing for attention or jockeying for position. You can ask the guide questions, linger on something that catches your eye, and get a more tailored read on what you're paddling through. Single and double kayaks are both available, though availability is limited, so you choose at checkout based on whether you want to paddle solo or share the boat.
All participants get a personal flotation device and instruction on kayak handling before you leave the dock. Child life jackets are available for younger paddlers. The paddle and kayak are included, so you show up ready to go.

Is this one for you?The paddle is steady and the water is flat, so this suits anyone with moderate fitness who can handle two hours on the water. The glass bottom means you see everything without diving or snorkeling, so it works for swimmers and non-swimmers alike.
