The experience

A professional diving team organizes two dives in the morning at marked sites around Sal Island, each led by an instructor who knows where the tropical fish, corals and sunken boats are. Water visibility ranges from 10 to 40 meters depending on the season, and temperature runs 23 degrees Celsius in winter to 29 in summer. You bring your certification card (OWD or equivalent) and your last dive must be within the past year. If it has been longer, contact the operator to arrange a skill review before you book.

Tanks (12 to 15 liters), weights and belt come with the price. You can rent additional gear for 15 euros per dive if you need it. The team picks you up from your hotel and brings you back when the dives are done. Groups are kept to seven divers or fewer, so you're not competing for the instructor's attention or jostling in the water.

What’s included

  • Professional dive instructor leading both dives.
  • tanks (12–15 liters), weights and belt.
  • hotel pickup and drop-off.
  • access to 24 marked dive sites around Sal Island.
