The experience

The tour opens with airport pickup and your first aurora hunt that same evening, traveling by heated vehicle to dark-sky locations chosen for current weather and northern lights activity. The next three days follow a rhythm: a daytime outing at 10:00 a.m., then an evening aurora experience. Day 2 brings Yellowknife city sightseeing covering mining history and contemporary northern life, followed by Aurora Hunt #2. Day 3 takes you to Cameron Falls in the morning, then settles you into a stationary aurora-viewing camp with a warm base and outdoor viewing space when the sky becomes active. Day 4 runs the bison highway wildlife route (a vehicle-based tour where sightings are natural and unguaranteed) before airport drop-off coordinated around your flight time.

Transport between sites and to dark-sky locations is shared, so you travel with other guests in heated vehicles. The guide speaks English, French or Chinese depending on your booking. Seasonal conditions affect Cameron Falls access, and the Day 4 timing depends on your departure flight. If your flight leaves early, the daytime activity can be adjusted or arranged separately. Hotel accommodation, meals, drinks and gratuities are not part of the package, so you'll book lodging separately and arrange your own dining.
